Performance Coaching for Athletes

What is Performance Coaching?

Experienced coaches have similar qualities to therapists, in that coaches listen, observe, encourage and customize their approach to individual client needs. However, there are differences between coaches and therapists.

Performance Coaching:

Coaches do not assess, diagnose, or treat mental illness. (This includes suicidal ideation, substance abuse, eating disorders, etc.)

Coaching services are not eligible for out of network reimbursement from insurance.

Coaches can work with individuals from anywhere in the world and are not limited to practice in licensed states like therapists.

Coaching is more short term. Performance coaching usually lasts 3-10 sessions, depending on goals.

Coaching is future-focused and goal oriented.

I offer performance coaching services specifically to athletes looking to work through: performance anxiety, mental blocks, injuries, concussions, or negative experiences in your sport. We may be a good fit if you are experiencing:

  • Increased fear, anxiety, and hesitation

  • Lack of confidence

  • Inability to perform at same level

  • Doing well in practice but not in competition

  • Chronic pain from injury or overuse

  • Wanting to quit

  • Wanting to find your flow
